What did you learn about clay?
|
. I had some previous knowledge of clay because of sculpture class last year but I did learn a few new things. I learned how to carve drawing out of c lay and how to make sure the sides are smooth and even. I also had never made a clay "hat" before so it took a couple of trial and errors. I had to measure the space between squidwards head and the top of the slab. I did this so i would know how tall to make his hat

acrylic paint
|
This project was the one I learned most from since I didn't have previous knowledge of acrylic paint or painting in general. One thing I learned the hard way was that acrylic drys very fast so I had to paint and blend colors quickly. I did this by premixing the colors so that I had everything ready. Then I added a bit of water to my brush to help blend the colors together. I also learned how to mix colors and the difference of cool and warm colors.

tape art
|
I learned a lot about tape art surprisingly, I learned how to make tape leaves out of tape. I used multiple pieces of tape and connected them together and I used an X-acto knife to help cut all the leaves out. Trying to spell things out with tape was harder than expected. Especially trying to make the S' .Overall I learned that tape art is way harder than it seems and you need to be patient while going through the process. I also did not expect to have to use math for this, but it was very vital in trying to make everything even.

myths/embrace the shake/ and technology
|
Myth project: For my myth project i made a sun. The medium i chose for this project was clay. This was really challenging at first because I struggled making the slab even all around, but I eventually got it to work. The first thing that popped up into my head when I heard the theme was myth was suns.
Embrace the shake: This project was one of my favorites that I have done. Even though it took me forever and was really challenging I still enjoyed making it. I started off my project by sketching out what I wanted to draw and then I used a really thin tipped pen to make tiny dots. I made the dots thicker on the outside and faded it out to make an "ombre" effect. The reason why I chose pointillism was because i had never done it before and because i liked the look of pointillism art. Technology: My technology project was probably the most fun and stressful out of the three projects on my blog. I really enjoyed using acrylic paint again but it was really stressful trying to paint the background while also avoiding painting sponge bob. The sponge bob ended up being the most hard part of the painting because it required a lot of tedious work. In my painting sponge bob is supposed to resemble me and how technology (specifically my phone) affects my everyday life. |
My best artworks
|
1.I would say that my best artworks were my spongebob piece and the pointillism wolf that I made. The definition of "best" for me would be something that i am really proud of and something that i know that i spent a lot of my time doing and that I think is the best i could do. Everyone can have their own definition of "best" it just depends on their standards on what they see/think is the best.
2. a.you told me i could just work on my spongebob painting because it was like painting and drawing 20 mini art work pieces. b. The way i came up with this idea was by combing my love for spongebob memes with my favorite medium. 3. The reason why I chose to do pointillism is because i had never done it before and i wanted to challenge myself. That piece took days to do because it required tedious dot work, Even though it took forever I still really like how i managed to add a nice fade all throughout the drawing. I learned a lot from my spongebob painting as well. It made me step out of my comfort zone and it really taught me how to get around with acrylic paint. This painting really taught me how to mix colors to get the shades that i needed. It also taught me many other painting techniques as well. |
