final animation
|
For my project I used squash and stretch, anticipation, and slow in slow out. The idea for this project was to mash both video projects that we did in class together and make a storyline for it. I chose to do whiteboard animation for this as well. I used the same characters from the previous videos for this one.An example of squash and stretch in my video project was when the ball hits the main characters face in the beginning part of the video. Anticipation occurred when the baby at the other park gets cut up by the scissor on accident. I used slow in and slow out for the scene where I showed the baby after being cut up from the pair of scissors.Throughout this class I have learned alot about animation and the different principles of it.

product design

Why did you pick the product you did? The reason why I chose black beans was because I remembered about this can of beans I had at home. That can inspired me to create BEXA black beans. I tried to make a parody version of GOYA beans. How did you design your piece? Tell me your process. I used GIMP to help make my packaging. I started off my getting a picture of beans that I would like on my can. Then I created my brand name and labeled both front and back. On the original GOYA cans they usually add recipes on the back so I did the same. The last thing I did was go to a custom nutrition facts label maker. I even got the actual calories and other things from a real can of beans. What is most successful about your design? I think the most successful thing about my design was the brand name because that was the thing that took the longest to make. I could'nt use the font on GIMP so i had to insert my label into mircosoft and add the name on through there and then reinsert the label into the program. If you could change anything about the piece, what would you do and why? If I could change one thing about my piece it would be the yellow border around the brand name. I feel like it's a little crooked and looks weird. But I couldn't figure out how to make a border with straight lines on GIMP. |
creature Drawing
- Where is this photo from?
The photo is from Ms. Sudkamps front porch ( I think).
Tell me about your creature - This creature was inspired by the Alaskan Bull Worm from spongebob.
- Explain your process in making this piece. How did you use layers? How did you use opacity?
I started with figuring out where I wanted to place my creature. Then I began sketching out the outline of my creature and proceeding to fill in my creature with a light purple. I then made a darker purple and colored in the top of the creatures body to make it darker since the general area was darker than the rest. I made sure to lower the opacity of the darker purple on the top to make sure it would blend easier with the lighter purple I used for the outline of the creature.

What problems did you overcome during this project and how?
During this project I struggled making sure the photos did not overlap. After watching a bunch of tutorials I finally figured out how to fix my problem by making sure the photos were all even and not tilted. I decided to just crop and align my photos which helped solve my problems.
If you could change anything about the piece what would you do?
If I were to change anything about my piece I would had made sure my blending between my photos and the background matched better. If you zoom in you can see the flaws.

Who did you work with or did you work by yourself?
For the whiteboard animation i worked with Alisha Quick. What did you find difficult about the process? The most difficult part of this process was making sure the drawings were in the same place as the last frame. Drawing the animations was tricky as well. What do you think is successful about your first animation? I think we did a pretty good job making sure that the animations were in frame and weren't in different spots each frame. I am also proud of the fact that we managed to keep the lighting somewhat consistent throughout the whole video. |
